The report “Advancing Cancer Equity in Seven High-Income Countries: An Analysis of Policy Levers and National Cancer Control Plans,” developed by the G7 Cancer Working Group on Cancer Outcome Inequities (Working Group 3), provides an in-depth analysis of how seven countries are addressing cancer equity through policy and national cancer control plans.

Using a three-phase approach-document analysis, review of national plans, and expert interviews—the study finds a strong commitment to equity but highlights gaps between policy goals and measurable action. The report emphasizes the need for clear definitions of equity, measurable targets, robust data, and attention to social determinants of health. It also stresses the value of stakeholder engagement and international collaboration.

To support progress, the report presents a Policy Framework for Equity in Cancer Control with phased recommendations to help countries translate equity commitments into concrete outcomes.
